WE NEED YOU!
Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival takes place every August at venues across the town.
Each year, we recruit a team of volunteers to help us in the delivery of a range of events, and we’d love you to be a part of it. As a volunteer, you will be part of a friendly and diverse team who welcome our audiences helping ensure they have a great festival experience.
ROLES
Exhibition invigilating, exhibition and event set-up, stewarding, workshop assistants and participants.
TRAINING
A training and induction session will be provided to ensure you feel happy and confident in your role. The date of which will be confirmed nearer to the time.
AVAILABILITY
We’d like volunteers to be available for 2-3 shifts. Shifts may be morning, afternoon or evening. Some shifts will be in the days leading up to and after the festival dates.
MAIN TASKS
& RESPONSIBILITES

Acting as a gallery invigilator for visual arts events, or steward for theatre and outdoor performance events

Making sure the area around events and visual arts exhibitions are clean and tidy, ensuring the site is welcoming and attractive to visitors

Participating in visual arts projects

Assisting with event and exhibition get-in and take-down

Assisting with loading and moving barriers at the large-scale events

Assisting artists and festival staff at events and workshops

Welcoming all visitors to Festival events, assisting with enquiries in a friendly manner, providing information on Festival events
*Please note: Volunteers can specify in advance which tasks they would like to do and are comfortable doing.
WHY VOLUNTEER
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a very special community event - where you’ll have the chance to meet locals, visitors and artists and make new friends. We will supply refreshments at all main events and we will host a volunteer after party to thank everyone for their involvement.
OTHER INFORMATION
We will provide you with a branded lanyard for easy identification by visitors. If you are volunteering on any of our outdoor events, you’ll need to ensure you have appropriate clothing and footwear, and a festival hi-vis will be provided.
