A series of Exhibitions, Events and Artists’ Talks will be taking place throughout the town. Venues include; John’s Hall, Estate Office, Rosse Row, Masonic Hall, Birr Library and P. L. Dolan’s Bike Shop, Main Street.

Opening Hours: 11am-6pm from Saturday 15th-Friday 21st August 2009

All Events Are Free and Everyone is Welcome.




Special Events

Friday 14th of August
Exhibition Opening & Launch
Birr Theatre & Arts Centre 7pm and 8-9pm Estate Office, Rosse Row The evening will include a dance performance by Legitimate Bodies Dance Company, entitled ‘From now on, all our pieces will be about sex or the environment’

Saturday 15th of August
Artists Talks
The curators will host a series of talks aimed at creating discussion and engagement with the visual arts programme.
3-6 pm at John’s Hall, John’s Mall

Sunday 16th of August
FLUXUS 1963-1970: Screening & Live Music
16mm films by influential artists such as Yoko Ono, George Maciunas, Pieter Vanderbek and John Cale.
8pm at Spinners Townhouse Gallery, Castle Street

Monday 17th of August
Historic Walking Tour
Guided tour with Margaret Hogan includes artists’ talks at the Masonic Hall and Estate Office.
Starts at The Maltings at 2:30pm
